A Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO graduate drowns in a swimming pool

The Microbiology graduate identified as Stephen Igwilo died around 6pm, yesterday. He drowned in a swimming pool at a hotel located at Eziobodo, Owerri, during an outing with two of his friends.

Reports of drowning in hotel swimming pool seems to be on the increase. You recall about a week ago, we reported that two University students drown during pool party in Abia State. Students of the Michael Okpara university of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, attended a pool party at Kenvilles hotel, Umuahia. Unfortunately, two Veterinary Medicine students of the university were said to have died during the birthday party. The two undergraduates that drown during pool party have been identified as Johnson Ibe, a 200 level student, and Egwu David, a 100 level student.

;Last month, there was another case of how Uniabuja students watch friend drown because his father is rich. The shocking story revealed how three University of Abuja, UNIABUJA, freshmen watched their friend, 17-year-old Emmanuel Aigbokhalode Balogun drown at the Dome Hotel pool. According to Mystic Biu who narrated the story, the friends allowed him drown because he was always doing ”shakara” and had all the girls in their school flocking around him.
